Our Mission
We offer hope, love, and support to expecting mothers, fathers and caregivers in need of assistance with their child’s basic needs during the first two year’s of life.
Mary’s Helping Hands is here for you.
If you’re pregnant or have a child under the age of two, we’re here to support you with gently used maternity wear, baby clothing, and essential nursery items. Everything we offer has been generously donated and carefully inspected to ensure it’s clean and in excellent condition.
If you’re in need, we’d love to have a confidential conversation about how we can help.
History of Mary’s Helping Hands:
Founded by Lauren Burke and Carissa Wright in 2021, Mary’s Helping Hands (MHH) was created to meet a growing need in our community—supporting families during the first two years of a child’s life with dignity, compassion, and care. What began as a small grassroots effort has grown into a statewide ministry of service, expanding from serving 704 clients in our first year to more than 6,941 clients in FY 2025.
Through generous community donations and dedicated volunteers, MHH provides essential baby and maternity items at no cost to families in need. From clothing and diapers to hygiene kits, clothing bundles, and safe sleep solutions, every service is designed to ensure families feel supported, valued, and respected.
At its heart, Mary’s Helping Hands exists for one purpose: to walk alongside families in their most vulnerable seasons and remind them they are not alone.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
Mary’s Helping Hands does not—and shall not—discriminate based on race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status in any of our activities or operations.
This includes, but is not limited to, the hiring and dismissal of staff, selection of volunteers and vendors, and the provision of services.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment for all staff, clients, volunteers, subcontractors, and partners.
Our Impact Is Growing
Since 2021, Mary’s Helping Hands has experienced tremendous growth—both in the number of families we serve and the essential items we provide.
We started by supporting 704 clients in 2021 and grew to serve over 6,941 in FY 2025. Alongside that growth, the number of items distributed—such as clothing, diapers, and baby gear—has increased from 34,357 in 2021 to nearly 197,362 in FY 2025.
This growth is a testament to the increasing need in our community—and the generous hearts of those who support our mission.
